Adrenaline Activities
New Zealand is home to all sorts of heart pumping adventure activities. All of our South Island trips include a free day in Queenstown, known as the adrenaline and adventure travel capital of the world!
We are familiar with all the options available to you, and can set you up with activities from a variety of local operators.
The options are seemingly endless and include tandem skydiving or paragliding, a descent into a caving system, canyoning, zip lining, canyon swinging, adventure jet boat rides, stunt planes and of course that infamous New Zealand invention, the bungy jump. Those who don’t mind getting a little wet are also well catered for with a range of white water river rafting, sledging, kayaking and surfing.
These commercial activities are not generally included in your trip fare, but we know where to get the best deals, and we'll make it happen for you.

Bungy Jumping
'Bungy', the word that quickens the pulse and stirs the imagination, refers to the challenge and excitement of throwing yourself off a bridge or platform high above the ground with your legs attached by a single rubber band.
For jumpers the challenge is to overcome their fears and be able to say, "Yeah, I did it!" Bungy jumping gives a person the opportunity to overcome their inner fears and gives them a massive dose of adrenaline.
During the 1980's, A.J. Hackett developed a safe, standard method of jumping so people could have lots of fun, but feel totally safe. After a number of test jumps (including the Eiffel Tower), A.J. introduced bungy jumping to New Zealand and now the company operates throughout the world.
Canyoning
Explore your way through crystal pools and native forest. Plunge down water polished chutes, abseil down waterfalls. Climb, swim and float through a spectacular world of water sculpted rock and sparkling, crashing waterfalls. Canyoning (canyoneering in the U.S.) involves travelling down creeks or streams within a canyon by a variety of means - walking, scrambling, climbing, abseiling and swimming. Canyoning is an all weather activity.

Canyon Swing
What is the canyon swing? It is a giant 109 metre rope swing across one of the famous Shotover River Canyons, this is one adrenaline rush you will not forget in a hurry.
Jet Boating
The Jet Boat was invented in the South Island of New Zealand in 1954 by Sir William Hamilton as a means of travel up our many wild shallow rivers. There are now a number of companies offering a range of jet boat rides around the Queenstown area, these wild adventure rides are a must for the outdoor or wilderness enthusiast. Shotover Jet offers an exhilarating ride through the canyons of the Shotover river and the Dart river safaris offer a longer day trip into the Aspiring National Park.
Tandem Paragliding
Tandem Paragliding involves jumping from one of the peaks around Queenstown with your guide strapped into a specially designed parachute. Ride the thermals up over Queenstown and enjoy spectacular views over the whole Wakatipu basin before getting the heart rate pumping during a thrilling controlled decent.
Flight Park Tandem Paragliding
Tandem skydiving
Enjoy the thrill of skydiving over one of the worlds most spectacular settings with the safety of a professional instructor.
Via Ferrata
Invented before the First World War, Via Ferrata is basically a long climbing route with permanently fixed cables for protection. Steel rungs are used on steeper sections to keep the difficulty of the climbing moderate, and bridges are often used. It is a popular sport in Europe and although new to New Zealand more routes are being developed all the time.
River surfing & sledging
The strange sounding sport of river surfing is another Queenstown first with the worlds first commercial operation being setup here. It is a very popular summer activity on the beautiful Kawarau river, giving people the chance to surf river waves and run its famous rapids.
White water rafting
New Zealand has been blessed with some of the finest white water rivers in the world and there is a wide range of rivers with difficulty level to suit even the most adventurous.
